About this trip...
Step into the charm and culture of Scandinavia on this unforgettable city break. Your journey begins in Copenhagen, Denmark’s vibrant capital, where striking architecture, centuries-old royal palaces and colourful canals create a picture-perfect setting. Explore the city on a guided coach tour, passing by iconic landmarks such as the Little Mermaid statue, the enchanting Tivoli Gardens, and the grand Christiansborg Palace, seat of the Danish Parliament.
The adventure continues as you cross the magnificent Øresund Bridge, a feat of modern engineering linking Denmark to Sweden. On the other side lies Malmö, a relaxed and stylish city where cobbled streets and medieval squares meet cutting-edge design. Here, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of Gamla Stan, its historic old town, soaking up Swedish culture and atmosphere. With plenty of free time built into the itinerary, you can savour Copenhagen’s lively café culture, browse its design-led boutiques or perhaps return to Tivoli Gardens in the evening to see its magical lights. This short but enriching trip blends two unique cities and two distinct cultures, making it the perfect Scandinavian escape for solo travellers seeking memorable moments in great company.

Day Three: Øresund Bridge & Tour of Malmö
Today we make our way across the border to Sweden, crossing the impressive Øresund Bridge, a remarkable feat of engineering that connects Copenhagen, Denmark with the Swedish city of Malmö. Thanks to the submerged Drogden Tunnel on the Danish side, the bridge appears to emerge from the sea, spanning the Øresund Strait and providing a vital road and rail connection between the two countries.

Day Four: Departure day
We have our final breakfast as a group this morning before heading back to the airport for our flight home.

Essential Information
There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. To give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below.
Your Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection at the beginning of your holiday to cover drivers, guides, porters, and hotel staff of approximately 150DKK per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it, accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip.
Passport validity requirements
Denmark follows Schengen area rules. Your passport must:
-
have a ‘date of issue’ less than 10 years before the date you arrive – if you renewed your passport before 1 October 2018, it may have a date of issue that is more than 10 years ago
-
have an ‘expiry date’ at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave the Schengen area
Visa requirements
You can travel without a visa to the Schengen area, which includes Denmark, for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. This applies if you travel:
-
as a tourist
-
to visit family or friends
-
to attend business meetings, cultural or sports events
-
for short-term studies or training
From the 12th October 2025 the EU is introducing a new European Entry System (EES) that will be phased in and fully operational by the 10th April 2026. Non-EU nationals including British passport holders will now be required to complete biometric checks on arrival and exit to Schengen countries, which will include facial recognition and fingerprints. There is no cost for this, and no action needs to be taken prior to departure.
As part of health & safety we do require all our guests to be able to manage the demands of the trip. This will often include early starts with long days travelling by foot and on and off minibuses/coaches. You also must be mindful that when visiting a country with different cuisine and culture, special dietary requests cannot always be made as readily available with great choice. Please see the day by day itinerary for details of the programme. The order of the itinerary and events may be subject to change according to traffic, weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances beyond control.
