Frequently asked questions

Transfer time
From Dubai Airport to Wyndham Dubai Marina Hotel, the transfer time is roughly 30 minutes.
Dress code
The United Arab Emirates is a Muslim country that follows the Sha’aria law. All tourists and residents are required to dress modestly, no matter how hot the climate. When visiting religious buildings, mosques or other public buildings, your shoulders must be covered by both men and women and your clothing should not be outrageous. During the day when sightseeing, we recommend casual, lightweight cotton clothing. At many shopping centres in Dubai you will be able to read exact rules for clothing in the shopping centre at the entrance.

The rule is often that shoulders must be covered and that clothing is not revealing and short. For women, it is not recommended wearing very short skirts, short dresses or short shorts on the street. See through clothing is also not recommended because it can be considered offensive. Due to the high heat in Dubai, you do not have to wear warm long trousers and long sleeves, on the street, it is advisable to ensure it covers the knees. As a women, if you are baring shoulders, make sure you have something that you can use to cover shoulders if required. When visiting luxury restaurants, shorts and trainers are not recommended for men. Around the pool and beach is the only place you can wear swimwear.
Gratuities
We suggest a Group Collection to cover guides, transfer drivers, and hotel staff of approximately the equivalent of £70 in local currency per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % to add on.
Visa and Passport information

Passport validity
Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into the UAE. If you hold a residence permit, your passport must be valid for at least 3 months in order to travel to the UAE.

Your passport will be stamped with the visa as you pass through Immigration. The visa issued at the airport for British passport holders is valid for up to 40 days.
