If you like the idea of staying in a good quality hotel, with a 27-hole golf course right on your doorstep, the Islantilla Golf Resort is the perfect choice. The resort's excellent 27-hole golf course sits right next to the comfortable and friendly hotel, where golfers are always well looked after. A firm favourite over the years for Solos guests and the perfect venue for our fun and sociable Spanish Festival week of golf.
Golf Course
Set within a pine forest and with impressive sea views, the 27 holes at Islantilla give players the opportunity to play three different nine hole combinations. There is a good variety of holes, featuring fast greens, narrow tree-lined fairways and tricky over-water shots which will appeal to all levels of golfer. The three nines meander through the pinewoods and many holes enjoy spectacular views of the Atlantic. Holes 1-9 are hilly with a few blind shots, holes 10-18 are undulating with hanging lies to be expected, and holes 19-27 are long but not overly difficult. There are also excellent practice facilities at the resort.

Great organisation
Great organisations, leaders engaged with the group as worked hard to make sure we all had a good time, including a very challenging few hours were the weather was bad, the course shut and yet they managed to get us all out for 18 holes once things had improved.
As good as I remembered
I've been to Islantilla before (2012), and it was as good as I remembered. The hotel was good with superb rooms and the fact it is on the golf course, what more could you want? The weather was a little changable, but Nick and Sue did a wonderful job of organising the golf, especially when the weather threatened to derail their plans.

Transfer Time
The transfer time from Faro Airport to the hotel is approximately 1hr 15 minutes, depending on weather and traffic.
Passport & Visa Information
To enter mainland Spain or the Canary or Balearic Islands your passport must meet 2 requirements. It must be:
- less than 10 years old on the day you enter (check the ‘date of issue’)
- valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave (check the ‘expiry date’)
Check both the issue date and the expiry date in your passport. If you renewed your passport early, extra months may have been added to its expiry date. This could affect the requirement for your passport to be less than 10 years old.
A visa is not required by holders of passports endorsed “British Citizen” for stays of upto 90 days in any 180-day period. Please note that stays in other EU countries counts towards this 90 day period. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct visa, a valid passport and any other travel documents for your holiday.

Golf Handicaps
World Handicap System (WHS )
Handicap Players Only - WHS Handicap 38 or lower
Handicap Index number is required at the time of booking Please advise our reservations team. Alternatively you can add this to the special requirements box on our booking page. If you have a certificate please ensure you take it with you on the trip, this enables the Tour Leader to assess everyone’s ability, so that rounds and competitions can be organised fairly. If you are uncertain about these requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to advise you.
This trip is for golfers with a WGS handicap of 38 or lower . Handicap certificates are required

Golf Club Insurance
Clients will most probably find that their golf clubs are covered on their household insurance policy. Most policies cover a single item such as golf clubs for a period out of the country. However, clients should make very sure that they do have adequate cover for their equipment.
Buggy, Trolley & Club Hire
Most golf clubs have these items available for hire, however this is not always the case, so clients would be advised to check with us beforehand if they have any specific requirements.
Golf buggy - €42 per round

It is advisable to reserve your requirements in advance to avoid disappointment. All hire charges are payable in resort and subject to change
Carriage of Clubs
We advise you to use a light golf bag when packing your clubs. We suggest you wrap a towel round the neck of the clubs to protect them and stop them rattling around whilst in transit. It is also important to then place the bag and clubs in an outer carrying bag, which can be purchased from any good golf shop.
What to Wear
Golf attire during the day. We suggest smart casual for the evenings.
Golf shoes with soft spikes are required.
Gratuities
We suggest a Group Collection to cover transfer drivers, and hotel staff of €25.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % add on.
