What you'll be doing

Nessebar
Nessebar is a charming seaside resort on Bulgaria’s western Black Sea coast, often referred to as the “Pearl of the Black Sea” thanks to its beautiful setting and long, fascinating history. The town blends ancient heritage with striking natural scenery, from picturesque bays and crystal-clear waters to long stretches of golden sand. You’ll find a pleasing contrast between the quieter beaches near the historic Old Town and the livelier, modern resort areas in the newer part of town and neighbouring Sunny Beach.

Old Town of Nessebar
The Old Town of Nessebar is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its historic churches, cobblestone lanes and traditional architecture. Set on a small rocky peninsula connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway, its fascinating 3,000-year history is revealed through ancient remains from the Thracian, Greek, Roman and Byzantine eras. Wander through charming little squares lined with craft shops and galleries, then soak up sweeping Black Sea views from inviting cafés and restaurants.

Essential Information
There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. In order to give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below.
Your Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection to cover drivers, porters and hotel staff of 50 Lev per week. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate add on.
You may wish to take an optional excursion during the course of your stay. Full details will be given at the Information Meeting. All tours can be paid for in Euros. Your Tour Leader will help arrange these for you but may not necessarily accompany you.
Please note:- Optional excursions are not guaranteed and are based on minimum numbers. The prices quoted are guideline only and may involve other non-Solos holidaymakers.
*All tours are subject to availability at the time of booking in resort.

Visit the St. George Monastery in Pomorie, a former Ancient Greek port known as Anhialos. The monastery stands as an important monument reflecting the area’s long cultural history. Enjoy a boat cruise along the Ropotamo River estuary—an area often compared to a European “jungle” for its lush, Amazon-like landscape. Arrive in Sozopol, one of the oldest Greek colonies on the Black Sea (founded as Apollonia in the 6th century BC). Explore its romantic, narrow streets and historic charm, reminiscent of Dubrovnik. Lunch and free time. Continue to Burgas, Bulgaria’s fourth-largest city, now a lively modern center with plenty of cafés and bars. Free time.

Stop in the Karandila area for photos, with an optional open-air chairlift ride over the Blue Rocks Nature Reserve (additional charge: €10). Short stop in Sliven, including a visit to a crystal shop. Continue to Karnobat to visit the Minkov Brothers Winery, founded in 1875. Known for its award-winning wines, the cellar ages its production in over 6,000 American and French oak barriques. Enjoy a tasting of three wines.
