What you'll be doing

Day One: Arrival in Norway

Day Two: Mount Fløyen
Distance: 6 km

Day Three: Flåm Railway & Nærøyfjord Cruise
Following breakfast, we make our way to Bergen Train Station to embark on an unforgettable journey to Myrdal aboard the iconic Flåm Railway. Renowned as one of Norway's most remarkable travel experiences, this 20 km route unfolds a spellbinding panorama of rivers slicing through rugged ravines, cascading waterfalls, snow-dusted peaks, and precarious mountain farms perched on sheer cliffs. Along the way, we pause for a memorable photo stop at the thundering Kjosfossen waterfall. Once in Flåm, we board a ferry and head to Gudvangen, through Nærøyfjord. It's no surprise that Nærøyfjord is featured on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. A fjord cruise through this narrow and beautiful fjord is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Day Four: Mount Ulriken
Today we make our way to the Ulriken cable car station, where a swift ascent carries us from city streets to sweeping skies. From the plateau, there are amazing views of the city, surrounded by mountains, fjords, shimmering lakes and rugged coastline. Known as the 'Highland in the heart of the city', Ulriken stands as a cherished landmark, beloved by locals and vistors alike. The Ulriken, the highest of Bergen's seven mountains, is a popular trip for both locals and visitors. On this walk, we enjoy panoramic vistas stretching from the sea and scattered islands to the distant fjords and jagged peaks. From the summit, we pause to take it all in—a scene that captures the very essence of Bergen’s natural beauty.

Day Five: Sail from Bergen to Stavanger
After breakfast, we head to Bergen's port to embark on the stunning sea voyage to Stavanger with Fjord Line. This daily route offers five and a half hours of uninterrupted beauty, sailing entirely through sheltered inshore waters, ensuring we are never far from dramatic landscapes and striking landmarks. Departing Bergen, we pass beneath two engineering marvels, the Askøybroen (Askøy Bridge) and Sotrabrua (Sotra Bridge), each gracefully connecting the mainland to the Hordaland's islands. Further along, the elegant Karmsund Bru (Karmsund Bridge) comes into view, connecting Karmøy and Haugesund. Its distinctive sweeping arch perfectly embodies the harmony of Western Norway’s voyages, where raw nature and human ingenuity meet. A favourite among photographers, it’s a sight best enjoyed with a camera in hand. On arrival in Stavanger port we transfer to our hotel in Stavanger where we'll spend the next three nights.

Day Six: Preikestolen Cruise & Walk
Today, we set out to experience one of Norway's most iconic natural wonders: Preikestolen, or Pulpit Rock. Towering 604m above the shimmering waters of the Lysefjord, this dramatic cliff was sculpted over 10,000 years ago by retreating glaciers. It has since become a symbol of Norway's breathtaking landscapes, a place where sheer rock meets endless sky.
Our journey begins with a fjord cruise through stunning Lysefjord. Departing from Stavanger, we glide past idyllic islands, rocky shores and steep mountains that plunge straight into the water. Along the way, we witness the crystalline flow of Hengjane Falls and glimpse the storied Vagabond’s Cave, steeped in local legend. The cruise ends at the quaint village of Forsand, where a bus takes us to the Preikestolen base camp.
The 8km round trip walk o Preikestolen is considered moderately challenging, taking approximately 4-5 hours. The path unfolds through varied terrain: swamplands rich with moss and wildflowers, shaded forest trails, and impressive stone stairways expertly crafted by Nepalese Sherpas. Expect sections of steep, uneven rock and stretches of bare mountain ledge—each step drawing us closer to the famous cliff edge, where Norway’s wild beauty stretches as far as the eye can see.

Day Seven: Randaberg Coastal Walk
After breakfast at the hotel, we transfer to the Randaberg region near Stavanger for a scenic coastal walk. The route takes us along beaches and rugged shoreline, with chances to spot seabirds, before reaching Tungenes Lighthouse at the tip of the Stavanger Peninsula. First lit in 1828, the lighthouse once guided ships into the Byfjorden, the main approach to Stavanger.
No longer in use, the lighthouse is now used as a fine arts venue and maritime museum. From here, we follow the coastal path around the peninsula to a sheltered bay before continuing along the shore and completing our loop back to the starting point. We then transfer back to the hotel in Stavanger.
Breakfast included
Ascent: Approx. 40m

Day Eight: Departure day
Today we bid farewell to the land of the Vikings and after breakfast, we transfer to the airport for our flight home.
