Your week of pickleball is set in the captivating Southeast Algarve, where the four-star Prime Energize Hotel awaits, just a short walk from the golden sands of Monte Gordo Beach. This prime location offers easy access to both gorgeous views and cultural treasures. For those eager to delve into local history and charm, the majestic Castro Marim Castle, the ancient Milreu Roman ruins, the picturesque village of Cacela Velha with its world-class views, and the beautiful historic center of Tavira are all just a short ride away, offering a rich tapestry of experiences beyond the courts.

On the Courts- The Pickleball Experience

Our pickleball sessions will take place at the esteemed Vila Real de Santo António courts, a truly excellent facility renowned for previously hosting the Portuguese National Pickleball Championships. This world-class venue provides the perfect setting for both improving your game and enjoying spirited matches. Your Solos Tour Leader will be present to organize a variety of friendly and competitive games, ensuring an engaging and fun experience for all skill levels. The pickleball schedule is designed for maximum enjoyment and skill development:

Day 2 - 9am to 1pm and 4pm to 6pm

Day 3 - 9am to 1pm

Day 4 - 9am to 1pm

Day 6 - 9am to 1pm

Day 7 - 9am to 1pm and 4pm to 6pm

Additional court time may be requested and arranged locally, subject to availability and an extra charge.

Beyond the Courts- Relaxation and Exploration

Beyond the pickleball courts, the Prime Energize Hotel is your sanctuary for relaxation and leisure. Take advantage of the hotel's extensive facilities, including a refreshing swimming pool, a rejuvenating spa and massage leisure center, and direct access to the inviting Prime Beach Club.

For independent exploration, bicycles are often available (subject to availability) to discover the local area at your own pace. Your dedicated Solos Tour Leader will also be on hand to offer insights and suggestions for further excursions, including optional trips to the charming towns of Tavira or Ayamonte. Whether you're looking to delve into rich history, savor local cuisine, or simply soak in the vibrant atmosphere, these excursions provide a wonderful opportunity to make the most of your time off the court.

Accommodations

Four-star Prime Energize Hotel

The four-star Prime Energize hotel is 400 meters from Monte Gordo beach, in the south east Algarve and just 45 minutes from Faro is sports focused with excellent facilities from sports, spa to beach club.

Facilities include

This sports-focused hotel offers a selection of daily sports activities including yoga classes, pilates, running and walking all included. You will also find an indoor heated pool, rooftop outdoor pool and bar, beach club, gym and spa where treatments can be booked for an additional fee. Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the property and bikes are available for rent.

Room includes

The rooms are decorated in soft, neutral colours offering a soothing and calming setting for a good night's sleep. Private facilities include a tv, hair dryer, pillow menu, safe, free Wifi, kettle and tea and bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Important Information

Pickleball Paddles are not provided and you must provide your own equipment.

10 pickleballs will be provided.

Swimming caps are required to be worn in the swimming pools. These can be purchased locally if you don't have your own.

Gratuities

There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of trip, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. To give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below.

The Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection at the beginning of your holiday to cover drivers, guides, porters and hotel staff of approximately €25.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burdern of who, when and how much to tip.

Permissions

WhatsApp Group: Shortly before your holiday, you will be invited to join an optional WhatsApp group to connect with your fellow travellers and your Tour Leader. If you choose to join the WhatsApp group, you’re consenting to your phone number being visible to other travellers. Photos or messages may be shared within the group. Solos may use group content for marketing purposes. You can opt out at any time by emailing: [email protected].

If you would prefer not to join the WhatsApp group, you can simply meet the group on your first day instead. Please note, if you have not received an email within 24 hours of departure, we recommend you check your email junk folder. Upon the conclusion of your holiday, please be informed that we will close your specific holiday WhatsApp group. Therefore, we recommend making personal arrangements with those you wish to stay in touch with before the holiday concludes.

Photo Permissions: At the beginning of your trip, your Tour Leader will ask if you would be happy to sign a photo permission form. This means that any photographs taken during your holiday can be used by Solos to share what the Solos experience is all about. It also means you have lots of memories to go home with! Details will be given at your welcome meeting

Passport & Visas

We recommend that you check passport and visa requirements for the country you are visiting at the State Departmentif you have a U.S. Passport. Most countries require that your passport have at least six months validity when traveling internationally, and many require that you have one to two blank visa pages for either an entry stamp or visa. As a general rule, please check that your passport has six months validity beyond your planned trip, and if not, please renew your passport with plenty of time to provide Solos with your updated passport information by the final payment due date.

Health Requirements

We recommend that you check if vaccinations are required for your destination at the CDC’s recommendations for your visited destination(s). We also recommend you purchase travel protection.
