Day One: Arrival into Berlin

Day One: Arrival into Berlin

Welcome to Berlin! We will take our transfer to our centrally located hotel. After check-in, we enjoy a welcome drink before heading to Berlin’s famous Christmas markets. At Gendarmenmarkt and Charlottenburg Palace, we soak up the festive atmosphere, shop for handmade gifts, and indulge in seasonal treats. 
 
A welcome dinner awaits us at the hotel before we settle in for the night.

Day Two: Exploring Berlin & TV Tower Visit

Day Two: Exploring Berlin & TV Tower Visit

After breakfast, we set off on a three-hour guided tour of Berlin, stopping at the Brandenburg Gate, Holocaust Memorial, and Museum Island. At Alexanderplatz, we admire the towering TV Tower and take an exciting trip to its observation deck, where we enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Berlin. We end at the East Side Gallery, where vibrant murals adorn a preserved stretch of the Berlin Wall. Along the way, we enjoy Berlin's mix of historical landmarks and modern street art for a well-rounded experience.

The afternoon is free to visit another Christmas market, where we sip mulled wine and enjoy the seasonal charm.

Day Three: Journey to Poznan & Ice Festival

Day Three: Journey to Poznan & Ice Festival

We have breakfast before boarding a coach for a scenic 3.5-hour journey to Poznan, Poland. Upon arrival, we explore the city’s charming Christmas markets, searching for unique decorations and festive treats. The highlight of the day is the International Ice Sculpture Festival, where we watch talented artists create dazzling ice masterpieces. 

 
After a delightful dinner, we relax in our centrally located four-star hotel.

Day Four: Poznan’s Winter Wonders

Day Four: Poznan’s Winter Wonders

After breakfast, our guide leads us on a sightseeing tour of Poznan. We visit Mickiewicz Square, the Imperial Castle, and the gothic Cathedral on Ostrów Tumski. Strolling through the Old Town, we admire the colorful Market Square and Renaissance Town Hall. A special treat awaits us at the Croissant Museum, where we learn the secrets of Poznan’s famous St. Martin’s Croissants in an entertaining show. The evening is free to enjoy Poznan’s festive spirit.

Day Five: Departure Day

After breakfast, we transfer to Poznan Airport for our journey home. We leave with warm holiday memories, festive souvenirs, and the joy of experiencing two magical Christmas destinations.

Essential Information

Transfer Time
Berlin airport to the H4 Hotel in Berlin is approximately 45 minutes. 
DeSilva Hotel to Poznan Airport is approximately 25 minutes. 
Dress Code
The dress code for during the day is casual. In the evenings the dress code is smart casual. Comfortable warm shoes for walking and sightseeing are recommended. Winters in Germany & Poland can be extra chilly, so be sure to bring layers that will keep you cozy and warm. Bring a comfortable coat, thick scarf, hat and gloves.  Insulated boots and thermal tops are also good idea.
Gratuities
There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. In order to give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below. Your Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection to cover drivers, porters and hotel staff of €20.00. 
 
Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate add on.

Passport, Visa & Entry Requirements

We recommend that you check passport and visa requirements for the country you are visiting at the State Department if you have a U.S. Passport. Most countries require that your passport have at least six months validity when traveling internationally, and many require that you have one to two blank visa pages for either an entry stamp or visa. As a general rule, please check that your passport has six months validity beyond your planned trip, and if not, please renew your passport with plenty of time to provide Solos with your updated passport information by the final payment due date.
