What you will be doing...

Day One: Arrival, Welcome and Darts
Arrive at Cardiff Airport (transfer not included) or Cardiff central train station, just a short walk to your hotel.
We arrive in Cardiff this afternoon and check in to our centrally located hotel, with time to settle in before meeting the group and Tour Leader early this evening.
Our Tour Leader joins us as we head out for a welcome drink and a lively game of social darts – the perfect icebreaker and a fun way to get to know our fellow travelers. We’ll round off the evening with a relaxed group dinner, setting the tone for the adventures ahead.
- Dinner included

Day Two: Cardiff Castle & Swing Dancing
After a hearty breakfast at our hotel, we begin the day with a guided tour of Cardiff Castle, one of Wales’s most iconic landmarks. Nestled in the heart of the city, the castle is a fascinating blend of Roman fort, Norman stronghold, and a lavish Victorian Gothic mansion. Our guide will take us through its rich history, stunning interiors, and impressive towers, we can enjoy the panoramic views from the castle keep.
We have the afternoon at leisure to take in Cardiff’s vibrant shopping arcades or relax in beautiful Bute Park, with plenty of time to soak up the local charm at our own pace.
This evening, we have the option of heading to a local venue for a lively evening of vintage fun with an introductory Lindy Hop (or similar swing dance) lesson. Don’t worry if you’re new to it, we will be guided through the basic steps in a relaxed upbeat fashion. After our introductory lesson, the floor opens up for dancing, offering the chance to show off our new moves. Whether we’re swinging or simply tapping our toes to the music, it’s a perfect way to wrap up our day.
(Please note this event is not exclusive to Solos, £5 entry, paid at the door)
- Breakfast included

Day Three: Cardiff Sightseeing & Food Tour
We start our day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before heading off mid-morning to the striking Wales Millennium Centre, where our local guide will be waiting to welcome us.
This is a tour of stunning contrasts, from the vibrant energy of Cardiff’s city center to the peaceful charm of a scenic waterbus cruise along the River Taff, keeping a lookout for local wildlife as we head towards Cardiff Bay, a lively waterfront framed by iconic architecture and a vast freshwater lake.
Along the way, we’ll sample some of Wales’s most beloved treats, artisan cheeses, and slices of rich bara brith (fruit loaf). No visit to Wales would be complete without a taste of succulent Welsh lamb.
Highlights of this tour include sights such as Cardiff Castle, the historic Cardiff Market, and the Senedd Cymru (Welsh Parliament) buildings.
We spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring the area and taking in the sights at a leisurely pace.
- Breakfast & lunch included

Essential Information
We recommend that you check if vaccinations are required for your destination at the CDC’s recommendations for your visited destination(s). We also recommend you purchase travel protection. A travel protection plan can often assist with medical emergencies and reimburse costs that are covered by the plan. Please verify coverage details with Solos before you travel.
Please note that transfers are not included on our UK breaks.
There is no parking at the hotel, but you can book parking nearby (some bookable in advance) such as Helmont House or North Church street car parks.
Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of bar staff and housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (the rounding up of the drinks bill and a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, restaurants expect a 10% gratuity (do check that service has not already been added to your bill). For taxis 10% of the metered fare.
