Day Two: Coach Tour & Free Time in Copenhagen

Day Two: Coach Tour & Free Time in Copenhagen

This morning, we set off on our guided coach tour of the vibrant Danish capital. As we journey through the city, we pass the iconic Tivoli Gardens, one of the world's oldest amusement parks, celebrated for its scenic gardens and live performances. We also pass by the Christiansborg Palace, which houses the Danish Parliament, Supreme Court, and the Prime Minister's Office. Our route then continues on to Amalienborg Palace, the official residence of the Danish royal family, where the changing of the guard draws many visitors.
A highlight of Copenhagen is the picturesque harbour of Nyhavn, lined with colourful 17th-century townhouses and one of the most photographed places in Copenhagen. No tour of Copenhagen would be complete without seeing the The Little Mermaid statue, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale and a true symbol of the city.
This afternoon, we will spend at our own leisure, maybe visiting one of the many cafes, indulging in the laid-back Scandic way of life, or revisiting one of the places we saw earlier in the day.

Day Three: Øresund Bridge & Tour of Malmö

Day Three: Øresund Bridge & Tour of Malmö

Today we make our way across the border to Sweden, crossing the impressive Øresund Bridge, a remarkable feat of engineering that connects Copenhagen, Denmark with the Swedish city of Malmö. Thanks to the submerged Drogden Tunnel on the Danish side, the bridge appears to emerge from the sea, spanning the Øresund Strait and providing a vital road and rail connection between the two countries.

We arrive into Malmö, known for its diverse cultural scene, innovative architecture, and progressive urban planning.Once an industrial centre, Malmö has evolved into a dynamic and modern city. We discover the old cobblestone streets of Gamla Stan, the chraming old town, where we'll find beautiful historical sights such as St. Petri Church, the Old Graveyard, Malmöhus Castle and Malmö's oldest pharmacy (The Lion Pharmacy). We'll also see some lesser known parts of the city such as the university distict and a few local hidden gems cherished by residents. After a day of exploration, we head back across the bridge to Copenhagen.

Dress Code
The dress code for during the day is casual. In the evenings the dress code is smart casual. Comfortable shoes for walking and sightseeing are recommended.
Gratuities

There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. To give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below.

Your Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection at the beginning of your holiday to cover drivers, guides, porters, and hotel staff of approximately 150DKK per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it, accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip.

Passport, Visa & Entry Requirements

We recommend that you check passport and visa requirements for the country you are visiting at the State Department if you have a U.S. Passport. Most countries require that your passport have at least six months validity when traveling internationally, and many require that you have one to two blank visa pages for either an entry stamp or visa. As a general rule, please check that your passport has six months validity beyond your planned trip, and if not, please renew your passport with plenty of time to provide Solos with your updated passport information by the final payment due date.

Not sure what travel documents you need? Our trusted partner, sherpa°, makes it easy to check visa and entry requirements based on your destination and passport. One quick check now means smooth sailing later. Click here to learn more.

Health Requirements

We recommend that you check if vaccinations are required for your destination at the CDC’s recommendations for your visited destination(s). We also recommend you purchase travel protection. A travel protection plan can often assist with medical emergencies and reimburse costs that are covered by the plan. Please verify coverage details with Solos before you travel.
