Costa Adeje, Tenerife

Our Resort- Iberostar Waves Las Dalias

Our Resort- Iberostar Waves Las Dalias

Sitting up the hill of Coste Adeje, a short 10-minute walk from one of the island’s finest beaches, our four-star, all-inclusive hotel is the perfect base for enjoying all that Tenerife has to offer. You won’t go hungry during your stay, with a fantastic main buffet restaurant with live cooking stations, and a range of snacks and appetisers on offer throughout the day. There are also three bars and evening entertainment offering up the likes of bingo, karaoke, live music and quizzes. Two pools, a whirlpool bath, darts, billiards, table tennis and a varied entertainment programme make for active days for those seeking livelier days. There are also water sports available nearby in Playa de las Americas.

The nearest shops, bars and restaurants are just 50 metres from the hotel and there are endless options for exploring further afield for those that enjoy sightseeing, culture and history.
Our location- Costa Adeje

Our location- Costa Adeje

This part of southern Tenerife is well-known for its beaches. While some retain the island’s typical black sand, such as Playa Fañabé, many have been transformed with soft golden Saharan sand. Among our favourites are Playa Troya and Playa Enramada, both awarded Blue Flag status, making them ideal for swimming and relaxing in the calm, warm waters. For those interested in culture and history, there are several noteworthy sites around the resort. You can visit the 16th-century ruins of Casa Fuerte de Adeje or take a stroll to the Church of St Ursula. There's also the fascinating archaeological site of Morro Crueso, featuring rock carvings left by the original Berber inhabitants of the Canary Islands. The Adeje area also offers a range of hiking trails, stretching from the coast up into the spectacular Teide National Park — perfect for outdoor enthusiasts looking to balance adventure with the laid-back pleasures of an all-inclusive beach holiday.

You also have the option to pack your walking boots and get out and explore. Or you could just enjoy relaxing by the pool, taking a stroll along the promenade, sipping on plenty of cocktails and taking the occasional ‘cool off’ swim – so if you only want to pack flip flops and swimwear, who are we to judge?!
Exploring Tenerife

Exploring Tenerife

With plenty of activities on offer right on your doorstep, you might not feel the need or desire to venture any further afield. There is however, so much to see on this stunning island. Teide National Park sits just to the north of the resort of Costa Adeje and is home to the third largest volcano in the world, a plethora of wildflowers, and is a must for nature-lovers. With a cable car taking you up to its peak, you can enjoy stunning views across the island and on a clear day you’ll be able to see the other Canary Islands to boot. If you enjoy a bit of shopping, there are many street markets across the island. Costa Adeje’s street market is held on Thursday and Sunday mornings next to the El Duque shopping centre and is great for souvenirs. For a charming market selling handcrafted goods and textiles, Los Cristianos is worth a visit on a Sunday morning. If you’re a food-lover, then Puerto de la Cruz market is for you, and you will find typical Canarian treats here alongside an array of souvenirs.

If you’re looking to do a fun excursion, there is an abundance on offer. Boat trips galore; from catamarans to pirate ships, jeep safaris, quad bikes, jet skis, kayaking and paddle boarding, flamenco shows and sightseeing around the island. You could even go on a night-time adventure exploring Teide after dark.

Essential Information

Transfer Time
The transfer time between Tenerife South airport and Iberostar Waves Las Dalias is approximately 30 minutes.
Passports and visas

We recommend that you check passport and visa requirements for the country you are visiting at the State Department if you have a U.S. Passport. Most countries require that your passport have at least six months validity when traveling internationally, and many require that you have one to two blank visa pages for either an entry stamp or visa. As a general rule, please check that your passport has six months validity beyond your planned trip, and if not, please renew your passport with plenty of time to provide Solos with your updated passport information by the final payment due date.

Not sure what travel documents you need? Our trusted partner, sherpa°, makes it easy to check visa and entry requirements based on your destination and passport. One quick check now means smooth sailing later. Click here to learn more.

Health requirements

We recommend that you check if vaccinations are required for your destination at the CDC’s recommendations for your visited destination(s). We also recommend you purchase travel protection. A travel protection plan can often assist with medical emergencies and reimburse costs that are covered by the plan. Please verify coverage details with Solos before you travel.

Dress Code
Casual layers for the autumn, winter and spring months and a light jacket is recommended for the cooler mornings and evenings. Comfortable shoes are a must if you wish to go sightseeing. The Canary Islands can be windy so bear this in mind when packing as light cardigans and jumpers would be useful outside the peak summer heat.
Gratuities
There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. To give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below.
Your Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection at the beginning of your holiday to cover drivers, guides, porters, and hotel staff of approximately €25 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it, accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip.
