Doña Julia Golf Club

This par-71 course, designed by Antonio Garrido, a former European Tour professional and highly respected golf architect, is built to USGA standards and features modern greens and tees, plus advanced drainage and irrigation systems. Measuring 6,021m from the championship tees, its standout feature is its huge greens, several of which exceed 1,000 square metres. The front nine provides the sterner test, with narrow, tree-lined fairways and strategically placed water hazards, while the back nine is more forgiving and rewards players with spectacular coastal views. Doña Julia Golf has firmly established itself as one of the Costa del Sol’s premier courses, offering a beautiful and memorable setting for an enjoyable round.

Valle Romano Golf & Resort is one of the Costa del Sol’s most prestigious courses, set in Estepona in the heart of Málaga province. It offers a complete golfing experience for players of all abilities, with an 18-hole, par-71 championship layout that’s both challenging and enjoyable. Designed by renowned architect Cabell B. Robinson, the course combines strategic hole design with spectacular Mediterranean scenery. Measuring 6,213m from the back tees, it suits different standards of play, while wide, undulating greens add variety and interest to every round. In 2003, San Roque Golf & Resort unveiled its championship New Course, designed by renowned American architect Perry Dye. Measuring a formidable 7,246 yards from the back tees, the layout delivers a demanding yet memorable test of golf. With spectacular views over the Guadalquitón River and the shimmering Mediterranean beyond, the course offers a truly unforgettable experience and gained international recognition when it hosted the 2006 Spanish Open. More than 100 strategically placed bunkers guard its immaculate fairways and greens, rewarding thoughtful strategy and smart course management for those aiming to score well.

Expect undulating terrain, quick greens, well-placed bunkers and several lake-lined holes. The course is split into two complementary nine-hole loops: the opening nine is narrower and more technical, demanding accuracy and careful shot selection, while the back nine is longer and more open, encouraging a freer style of play with woods and hybrids. Set in unspoilt surroundings with Mediterranean views, it offers a memorable round for experienced golfers and those simply looking to enjoy exceptional golf in a stunning setting.

Health requirements
CWe recommend that you check if vaccinations are required for your destination at the CDC’s recommendations for your visited destination(s). We also recommend you purchase travel protection. A travel protection plan can often assist with medical emergencies and reimburse costs that are covered by the plan. Please verify coverage details with Solos before you travel.
Golf Handicaps
World Handicap System (WHS ) Handicap Players Only - WHS Handicap 38 or lower Handicap Index number is required at the time of booking Please advise our reservations team. Alternatively you can add this to the special requirements box on our booking page. If you have a certificate please ensure you take it with you on the trip, this enables the Tour Leader to assess everyone’s ability, so that rounds and competitions can be organised fairly. If you are uncertain about these requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to advise you. This trip is for golfers with a WGS handicap of 38 or lower .  Handicap certificates are required   https://www.randa.org/WorldHandicapSystem
Golf Club Insurance

Carriage of Clubs
We advise you to use a light golf bag when packing your clubs. We suggest you wrap a towel round the neck of the clubs to protect them and stop them rattling around whilst in transit. It is also important to then place the bag and clubs in an outer carrying bag, which can be purchased from any good golf shop.
What to Wear
Golf attire during the day. We suggest smart casual for the evenings. Golf shoes with soft spikes are required.
Gratuities
We suggest a Group Collection to cover transfer drivers, and hotel staff of €25.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate add on.
Passports and visas
We recommend that you check passport and visa requirements for the country you are visiting at the State Department if you have a U.S. Passport. Most countries require that your passport have at least six months validity when traveling internationally, and many require that you have one to two blank visa pages for either an entry stamp or visa. As a general rule, please check that your passport has six months validity beyond your planned trip, and if not, please renew your passport with plenty of time to provide Solos with your updated passport information by the final payment due date.

Not sure what travel documents you need? Our trusted partner, sherpa°, makes it easy to check visa and entry requirements based on your destination and passport. One quick check now means smooth sailing later. Click here to learn more.

Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance before any trip — it safeguards you against unexpected issues like illness, cancellations, or lost luggage. It also protects your health and travel investment, giving you peace of mind to fully enjoy your journey. Click here. to learn more.
