Day Two: Guided Tour of Nice

After breakfast at the hotel, we set off on a guided walking tour of Nice. The city is rich in architectural beauty, especially throughout its sun-drenched Old Town. We begin at Place Massena, the vibrant main square that forms the bustling heart of the city. Just a short stroll away is Rue Massena, a lively pedestrian street filled with shops and restaurants. From there, we continue to Garibaldi Square, another of Nice’s key landmarks. To truly capture the spirit of the Old Town, we visit the colourful and atmospheric Cours Saleya market.
Here, we’ll soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the market, taking in the fragrant scents of fresh flowers and fruit while enjoying the lively buzz of local life. No visit to Nice would be complete without a stroll along the famous Promenade des Anglais. Lined with palm trees, this iconic seafront stretches for seven kilometres and offers sweeping views of the shimmering azure sea meeting the pebble shoreline. This afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore more of the city at your own pace or unwind at one of the many inviting cafés.

Day Three: Monaco

Day Three: Monaco

After breakfast at the hotel, we make our way to Nice Train Station and travel along the stunning French Riviera to the glamorous principality of Monaco, nestled between the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains. As the second smallest independent state in the world, Monaco is renowned as a luxurious playground for the rich and famous, drawn by its mild climate and spectacular setting. Visitors come to admire the opulent yachts in the harbour and the designer-lined streets. A highlight of our visit is the iconic Casino Square, home to the historic Place du Casino, built in 1861 and still a vibrant center of activity. After a guided tour of the principality, we’ll enjoy some free time to explore at our leisure before returning by train to Nice.

  • Breakfast included

Day Four: Cannes

Day Four: Cannes

This morning, we return to the train station—this time heading in the opposite direction as we make our way to the glamorous resort city of Cannes. Nestled on the French Riviera in the Alpes-Maritimes department of southeastern France, Cannes is famed for its luxurious lifestyle, pristine Mediterranean beaches, and world-renowned events. Our walking tour will take us through the city’s elegant streets, where old-world charm meets modern sophistication. Known internationally for the Cannes Film Festival held each May, the city has long attracted the wealthy, celebrities, and influencers—many of whom arrive aboard luxury yachts that grace the marina.

Following our guided tour, there will be free time to explore Cannes at your own pace before we return to Nice later in the day.

Essential Information

Transfer time
Transfer time from Nice Airport to the hotel is roughly around 15 minutes.
Dress code
The dress code for during the day is casual. In the evenings the dress code is smart casual. Comfortable shoes for walking and sightseeing are recommended.
Gratuities
There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. In order to give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below. Your Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection to cover drivers, porters and hotel staff of €20.00.

Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate add on.
Passport, visa & entry requirements

Passport and visas To enter France your passport must meet 2 requirements. It must be:

  • less than 10 years old on the day you enter (check the ‘date of issue’)
  • valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave (check the ‘expiry date’)

Check both the issue date and the expiry date in your passport. If you renewed your passport early, extra months may have been added to its expiry date. This could affect the requirement for your passport to be less than 10 years old.

We recommend that you check passport and visa requirements for the country you are visiting at the State Department if you have a U.S. Passport. Most countries require that your passport have at least six months validity when traveling internationally, and many require that you have one to two blank visa pages for either an entry stamp or visa. As a general rule, please check that your passport has six months validity beyond your planned trip, and if not, please renew your passport with plenty of time to provide Solos with your updated passport information by the final payment due date.
