Full Day Excursion to Barumini & Giara In the centre of the Marmilla region, in the valley of the Mannu river, at the foot of the Giara, there is a special atmosphere: ever since prehistoric times, Barumini was the main centre of a very rich territory, with a population of approximately one thousand 300 inhabitants today. It is one of the most captivating places of culture on the Island. At the entrance to the residential area, there is a monumental complex that has made it world-famous: Su Nuraxi, the only archaeological site in Sardinia declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site (1997).

Not only is it the most impressive (and most well preserved) of the thirty Nuragic sites, but it is, above all, the most precious inheritance left to us by the Nuragic civilization. The archaeological excavations took place in the middle of the 20th century by Giovanni Lilliu. An inimitable spectacle of nature about 60 kilometres from Cagliari, in southern Sardinia: a plateau of volcanic origin, home to horses unique in Europe. An island within an island, a magical place with unique characteristics. The Giara is a basaltic plateau on the border between Marmilla and Sarcidano: it rises abruptly to 550 meters, dominating the flat surrounding landscape, undulated only by 'soft', fertile hills. On the summit, twelve kilometres long and slightly sloping, an ecosystem with rare animals and plants is preserved. Minimum participants: 9 € 149,00 per person. Includes bus, guide, tickets. Does not include lunch.

Proposal Full Day Excursion to Cagliari: The capital of Sardinia is steeped in Mediterranean atmosphere and offers everything you could want from a vacation: history and art, seashores and parks, comfort and fine cuisine. Cagliari is the main and most populous city on the island, at the Centre of a metropolitan area of 430,000 inhabitants (over 150 in the capital alone), as well as the gateway to Sardinia and the Mediterranean cruise hub.

In its four historic quarters, it preserves millenary events ranging from prehistory to the rule of the House of Savoy. The Castello district rises on the highest hill, characterized by ancient bastions, now terraces where the nightlife bustles, and picturesque narrow streets lined with noble residences: Palazzo Regio and Palazzo di Città, as well as the cathedral of Santa Maria. Of great charm are the medieval towers at the entrance to the castle, the Elephant and St. Pancrazio towers. Minimum participants: 9 € 129,00 per person. Includes bus, guide, tickets. Does not include lunch.

Half Day The “Museum town” of San Sperate An unusual tour to discover San Sperate, the so called “Museum town”, thanks to its colourful murals. Pinuccio Sciola, a very versatile artist from the town, started the tradition of muralism in town. There you will have the chance to visit his Sound Garden, a place where you can hear music made from his pietre sonore, sounding stones. Don’t miss the chance to live this unique experience with us! Minimum participants: 9 € 135,00 per person. Includes bus, guide, tickets.

Full Day Wine tour: A visit to the small town of Serdiana to visit Audarya winery, one of the most important wineries on the island. The Audarya estate, consisting of 12 hectares, is the heart of the company, and it is here, surrounded by greenery, that our wine cellar is located. In a hilly position, about 200 metres above sea level, surrounded by a fantastic landscape in which one can admire the Romanesque-Pisan church of Santa Maria di Sibiola. During the tour you will find out the history of the family and of the founder of the winery, while visiting the areas of wine production, surrounded by the scent of must. After the visit you will taste their top wines together with local cheese, cured meat and carasau bread. Minimum participants: 9 € 169,00 per person. Includes bus, guide, winetasting.

Shared sailing tours with other guests or in exclusivity Experiences designed for small groups, on board max 6/8 guests One of Sardinia's most beautiful and renowned coastlines Turquoise waters in a unique landscape. An unforgettable experience discovering the Villasimius Protected Marine Area, whose coastline offers scenery of extraordinary diversity and great charm: Capo Carbonara, Isola dei Cavoli, Porto Giunco and other iconic locations.

During snorkelling stops, you will be able to appreciate a very diverse marine fauna as well as underwater scenery characterised by granite rocks and posidonia meadows that are of enormous importance for the ‘health’ of the sea and the protection of the coastline from erosion. Be enchanted by a unique and unforgettable coastal and seascape. We sail mainly under sail, reducing the use of engines to manoeuvring in port and anchoring in roadsteads.

We love to give our guests an authentic yachting experience. A beautiful sailing boat suitable for mainly sailing and having the opportunity to steer and actively participate in manoeuvres on board. Natural water, beach towels, snorkelling equipment, oilskins and safety equipment are always available on the boat. It is not necessary to take anything with you except your personal belongings. Routes and bays where to stop are agreed with the skipper during the pre-embarkation briefing and during the course of services. They are always adjusted in relation to the guests' needs and the weather and sea conditions.

Exclusivity: Minimum participants 6 – Maximum participants 8 € 1.100,00 Half Day - 3 hours – light lunch not included € 1.600,00 Full Day – 7 hours included light lunch and 2 glasses of wine Transfer from Tanka Village to Villasimius Harbour included.

Shared with other guests: € 170,00 Half Day - 3 hours – light lunch not included € 215,00 Full Day – 7 hours included light lunch and 2 glasses of wine Transfer from Tanka Village to Villasimius Harbour included.
Dress code
Casual, cotton, lightweight daytime wear is the order of the day. Comfortable shoes are a must for sightseeing. Smart casual clothes will be ideal for the evening, with the emphasis throughout being informal but with no shorts or vests in the restaurants in the evenings. Early and late season evenings can be cool so do ensure that you take a cardigan or jacket.
Gratuities
We suggest a Group Collection to cover transfer drivers, and hotel staff of €20.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate percentage add on.
Passports & Visas
We recommend that you check passport and visa requirements for the country you are visiting at the State Department if you have a U.S. Passport. Most countries require that your passport have at least six months validity when traveling internationally, and many require that you have one to two blank visa pages for either an entry stamp or visa. As a general rule, please check that your passport has six months validity beyond your planned trip, and if not, please renew your passport with plenty of time to provide Solos with your updated passport information by the final payment due date.
