Our day begins at Edinburgh Castle, which dominates the city skyline from its perch atop the ancient volcanic rock of Castle Rock. Stroll along the castle’s promenade as you hear captivating tales of its origins, battles, and royal intrigues. Explore the magnificent 16th-century Great Hall, once the setting for grand feasts and celebrations, and uncover the bloody history of the monarchs who called this fortress home.
We conclude our tour at the famed World’s End pub, a beloved local institution where you can relax and soak up the atmosphere — the perfect way to end your day exploring the heart of Edinburgh.

Today’s journey takes us deep into the heart of the Highlands, beginning with a visit to Culloden Battlefield, where our guide will bring to life the stories of the Jacobite uprising and the traditional Highland way of life. Walking across the windswept moor, you can still see the stone markers that identify the mass graves of the clans who fought and fell there, a deeply moving experience.
We’ll continue to the nearby Culloden Viaduct — an impressive feat of Victorian engineering. With its 29 elegant arches gracefully spanning the River Nairn, the viaduct offers a stunning contrast between industrial ingenuity and the natural beauty of the Highlands.
This afternoon we’ll embark on a scenic cruise across the legendary Loch Ness, taking in its mysterious beauty and perhaps even catching a glimpse of the elusive Nessie! Along the way, we enjoy memorable stops at the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous by the Harry Potter movies, and the historic Glenfinnan Monument, standing proudly at the head of Loch Shiel. Conclude our drive in Fort William, taking time to admire Neptune’s Staircase, a remarkable series of locks on the Caledonian Canal.

Day Seven: Glencoe, Stirling Castle & Edinburgh
Today we journey from Fort William back to Edinburgh, travelling through some of Scotland’s most iconic landscapes. Our route takes us through the dramatic Glencoe Valley, famed for its towering cliffs and sweeping slopes, and onward to the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, Scotland’s largest loch. We’ll then pass through the scenic Trossachs, often called the “Highlands in Miniature”, before continuing toward Stirling.
This afternoon we’ll visit Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s grandest and most historically significant fortresses. Perched high on a volcanic rock, it once guarded the gateway between the Highlands and Lowlands and served as the royal residence of Scotland’s kings and queens. Within its majestic walls, you’ll uncover tales of power, intrigue, and royal splendor, from the reign of Mary, Queen of Scots to the battles of Stirling Bridge and Bannockburn. Restored to its Renaissance glory, Stirling Castle remains a magnificent symbol of Scotland’s rich history and heritage.
Before returning to Edinburgh, we’ll make stops at two modern Scottish landmarks. The Falkirk Wheel is an engineering marvel and the world’s only rotating boat lift, where canals are connected in spectacular style.
