A superb base for our week of sociable Solos Winter golf. Overlooking the Três Irmãos beach, the Pestana Blue Alvor Beach All Inclusive Hotel is situated in the charming resort of Alvor, ideally located with easy access to the area's golf courses. Silves Course
With spectacular mountain views from most holes, this picturesque and well-designed course certainly offers a rewarding challenge and a test for all levels of golfers. Concentration is the name of the game from the outset where a drive at the opening hole has to flirt with water hazards on both flanks.

Vale da Pinta Course
This fantastic parkland course designed by the highly respected American golf architect Ron Fream has 8 times consecutively hosted the European Seniors Tour Qualifying final. The Vale de Pinta golf is rightly respected not just for its playability and challenging layout but for outstanding levels of beauty and enjoyment which has earned its place as one of the best designed courses in the Algarve and Europe.

Gramacho Course
Our week includes a round at this fantastically designed championship golf course with its 18 holes and 27 greens, plus the numerous different tee points will enable players to enjoy the same course time and time again but always with slightly different challenges. Following the success of Vale da Pinta, Ron Fream teamed up with the former world No 1 Nick Price to create this unique course where they managed to incorporate the traditional landscape by utilizing the natural stone outcrops, historical dry stone walling and existing ancient trees with some artfully sculpted lakes and bunkers.

Clients will most probably find that their golf clubs are covered on their household insurance policy. Most policies cover a single item such as golf clubs for a period out of the country. However, clients should make very sure that they do have adequate cover for their equipment
Buggy,Trolley & Club Hire
Buggy, Trolley & Club Hire Pestana Golf Courses only hire buggies on a first come first served basis. It is not possible to pre-book buggies unless a doctor's certificate is presented.These must be requested and paid locally at the courses subject to availability.
Equipment rentals – prices are per unit per round and are subject to change without prior notice: Pestana courses: Buggy 55,00euros /Electric Trolley 30,00euros / Pull Trolley 10,00euros (these must be requested and paid locally at the courses and are subject to availability)

What to Wear
Golf Footwear
Golf shoes with soft spikes are required.
What to Wear
Golf attire during the day. We suggest smart casual for the evenings.
Carriage of Clubs
We advise you to use a light golf bag when packing your clubs. We suggest you wrap a towel round the neck of the clubs to protect them and stop them rattling around whilst in transit. It is also important to then place the bag and clubs in an outer carrying bag, which can be purchased from any good golf shop.
Passport & Visas
From the 12th October 2025 the EU is introducing a new European Entry System (EES) that will be phased in and fully operational by the 10th April 2026. Non-EU nationals including British passport holders will now be required to complete biometric checks on arrival and exit to Schengen countries, which will include facial recognition and fingerprints. There is no cost for this, and no action needs to be taken prior to departure.
To enter Portugal or Madeira your passport must meet 2 requirements. It must be:- less than 10 years old on the day you enter (check the ‘date of issue’)
- valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave (check the ‘expiry date’)
Check both the issue date and the expiry date in your passport. If you renewed your passport early, extra months may have been added to its expiry date. This could affect the requirement for your passport to be less than 10 years old.
A visa is not required by holders of passports endorsed “British Citizen” for stays of upto 90 days in any 180-day period. Please note that stays in other EU countries counts towards this 90 day period. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct visa, a valid passport and any other travel documents for your holiday.

All clients are responsible for acquainting themselves with up to date health information of the countries being visited and where necessary take the required precautions. Gratuities
We suggest a Group Collection to cover transfer drivers, and hotel staff of €25.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % to add on.
