Day Four: Verona City Tour and Winery Visit

After breakfast, we explore the historic city of Verona – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our local guide will lead us on a walking tour through the heart of the city where we will see traces of its long history from Roman and Medieval eras, through to the Gothic and Scaligera periods. The guided tour of the old town showcases the majestic Castelvecchio castle and the Arco dei Gavi (Gavi’s arch). We stroll along Corso Cavour, see Juliet’s House, Piazza delle Erbe, Piazza dei Signori and Piazza Brà with the Arena. Next stop Casa Sartori family-owned winery in Pedemonte.

We will start with a walk through the park of Casa Sartori, to then reach the historic vineyard Corte Brà, the first bought by the family; the tour will then bring you down to our cellars to discover the winemaking process among vats and barrels. After the tour, we sit down to a guided tasting of three of their most iconic wines: Marani(white), Saltari (ripasso), Reius (Amarone), served with handcrafted chocolate bites.

Frequently asked questions

Transfer Time
The transfer time from Verona Airport to our hotel is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on weather and traffic.
Dress Code
Lake Garda in winter is cold. Ensure you have a warm coat, sweater, hat, scarf and gloves. Comfortable waterproof shoes for walking and sightseeing are recommended. In the evenings the dress code is smart casual, with gentlemen requested to wear a shirt and tie for Christmas Gala dinners.
Gratuities
We suggest a Group Collection to cover transfer drivers, and hotel staff of €10.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % add on.
Passports & Visas
A full 10-year passport is required valid for at least the duration of your stay. Holders of passports with the inscription “British Citizen” or “European Union” do not require a visa. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct visa, a valid passport and any other travel documents for your holiday.

All information provided relates to British citizens who hold or are entitled to apply for a British passport. For the most up-to-date visa information please visit; Italy Foreign Advice

If you are not a British citizen and do not hold a British passport, you must make your own enquiries as to the applicable requirements.
