Day Two: The Cotswold Way - Chipping Campden to Broadway
The 102-mile Cotswold Way starts in Chipping Campden, the starting point for our walk today. This beautiful market town perfectly captures the character of the Cotswolds, with its honey-coloured stone buildings, quarried locally and once built for the prosperous wool merchants of the region. We begin with a short exploration of this delightful village before setting off from the official Cotswold Way marker stone towards Dover's Hill, home of the famous Cotswold Olimpick Games. From here, there are magnificent views across the surrounding countryside.
Our route then continues through rolling farmland to Broadway Tower, the second-highest point in the Cotswolds, where more spectacular views await and we stop for lunch. From Broadway Tower, we descend into Broadway. Although very different in character from Chipping Campden, Broadway is equally charming and is home to one of the most photographed and painted rows of houses in England. There will be time to explore the village and enjoy refreshments before returning to the hotel.
