Essential Information

Transfer time
Transfer time from the airport to the hotel is approximately 35 minutes.
Dress code
Casual, comfortable clothing is recommended throughout the tour. Layering is essential, as temperatures can vary significantly between warm days and cool evenings, particularly in the Atacama Desert. Comfortable walking shoes are advised for sightseeing and excursions, while a warm fleece or jacket, hat and gloves are recommended for the early morning visit to the El Tatio Geysers. Don't forget sunglasses, a sun hat and high-factor sunscreen to protect against the strong desert sun.
Gratuities

There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. To give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below. Tours and transfers: For guided private tours, tips would be around USD 3-5 per person and day. For driver, tips would be around USD 2 per person and service. Cafes and restaurants: around 10% of your total bill. The Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection at the beginning of your holiday to cover drivers, guides, porters and hotel staff. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip.

Passport, Visa & Entry Requirements
PassportYour passport should be valid for six months from the date you arrive.
Visa If you have a British citizen passport you can enter Chile as a visitor for stays of up to 90 days without a visa.
Health Requirements
Some excursions take place at high altitude, with the visit to El Tatio Geysers reaching approximately 4,300 metres above sea level. Guests should ensure they are comfortable travelling at altitude and consult their GP if they have any concerns. The Atacama Desert experiences warm days but temperatures can fall significantly in the evenings and before sunrise, so layered clothing is recommended. Please also note that the included astronomy excursion is weather dependent and may be adapted if conditions are unsuitable.
Currency
Chilean Peso (CLP)
WhatsApp Group
Shortly before your holiday, you will be invited to join an optional WhatsApp group to connect with your fellow travellers and your Tour Leader.
