Trip Reviews

Best of both worlds

Kenya 'best of both worlds' Safari and Beach Holiday. For me it was a bucket list trip of a lifetime holiday and literally was 'the best of both worlds'. A small group of 8 of us expertly guided by the very diligent and affable tour leader Monica Tigani. Planes, trains, automobiles, balloons and boats, not to mention the huge menagerie of wildlife including the 'big 5' (very fortunate to see the leopard). Golden beaches, warm seas beautiful sunsets/rises, fab hotels and great game lodges....(where else can you wake up to the sound of lions roaring in the distance or watch wild hippos grazing on the lawn in front of your lodge). Amazing experience.

Amazing Kenya Safari & Beach

This was my first solo’s holiday and what can I say…it was incredible, amazing, fantastic…everything I hoped for & a whole lot more. This has been on my bucket list for a while & it was full of WOW moments from beginning to end, the Safari was breathtakingly stunning & we had a great TL Monica, I still can’t believe we saw the big five, (lions, elephants, rhinos, a cheetah & the elusive leopard) plus all the other amazing animals at the lakes & game reserves. Then we finished up in Mombasa on the beach which was much needed to relax, have a ‘few’ cocktails & enjoy the sunshine in a great hotel. Met some great people on this trip which made it even more special!!

Optional Excursions

These excursions must be booked before departure as they are not available to book in resort.

Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen Museum

The giraffe centre is the headquarters for the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife, established in 1983 as a sanctuary for the then endangered Rothschild giraffe. The breeding program has been a great success, and visitors can now watch these gentle giants at eye level from a raised platform. There is also the opportunity to learn more about giraffe at the interpretation centre and hand-feed them.

Next, we visit the Karen Blixen Museum, that was once part of her vast coffee estate, “Mbogani” and her home from 1917 until 1931. After her departure the suburbs retained the commemorative home of Karen and the house was restored by the Danish government and used during the filming of "Out of Africa". Glimpse into the typical colonial life in Kenya.

Optional excursion (Day 2) £100pp (minimum 6 pax)

Balloon Safari and bush breakfast

This morning, we have the option to start our day with a hot air balloon safari at sunrise, followed by a delicious bush breakfast and a glass of bubbly

Optional excursion (Day 4) £425pp
