With our wide selection of holidays, we are very privileged to work with lots of wonderful Tour Leaders. We can’t wait to be back on holiday soon, so we’d like to introduce Sue, one of our wonderful UK Tour Leaders who has been with us since 2015! Here she talks all about her experience of being a Tour Leader and share her hope for 2021!

Meet our UK Tour Leader Sue

Hi, I’m Sue and have been working as a Tour Leader for Solos since 2015 after I myself had been on a trip to South Africa and then started working for them shortly afterwards! Solos is just great to watch people enjoying themselves and also making new lifelong friends along the way. I was born in London but moved to Somerset 30 years ago. I have two grown up children and last year even became a Nanna! My big passion is travel as I love visiting different countries and learning about new cultures. One of my favourite tours was definitely my trip to Kenya on a wonderful Safari! We got to see The Big Five in their natural habitat, which was fabulous and also a little emotional. These types of bucket list trips are amazing – I would recommend this trip to everyone! My biggest highlight was seeing a Bull Elephant come out of the bushes whilst on a night Safari – it stepped out right in front of the jeep – so scary, but very memorable! The last tour I hosted with Solos was a walking trip to Cheddar at the end of last year! It was a great couple of days, full of fab scenery, good weather and fantastic company. Even with the challenge of getting use to small groups and social distancing, it was great fun and unforgettable! Each Solos tour is different – and I to love to host a variety of tours! The walking holiday to Kefalonia and Ithaca was an amazing trip. We moved accommodation regularly which was great fun to experience new places. We also ate out lots at local tavernas, and enjoyed the true Greek experience, which included sampling Ouzo and LOTS of Greek dancing – even on tables! I cannot wait to be back working as a Tour Leader for Solos again this year! It will be wonderful to go on more trips later this year, whether here in the UK or abroad, and get to meet new people and reunite with familiar faces! I look forward to seeing many of you soon! Take care!
