If you’re yet to join us on a Solos golf break and you’re wondering what to expect, who you will join and how the holiday is structured, then we’re here to give you all the help you’ll be looking for! Our resident expert Darren, has answered some of our burning questions that will hopefully get you fully prepared for an exciting new holiday…

The people you will join...

Our group sizes for a golf break can vary between 12-50 golfers. On a UK golfing holiday you can normally expect smaller group sizes and at our international Solos golf festivals like El Rompido Autumn Festival and Islantilla Spring Festival there are normally groups of over 40 which makes it a fantastic event to join! Many of our golf groups are made up of a 50/50 split of both men and women but when you chat to the team about your booking we can always confirm who you can expect to be joining ahead of time.

The equipment you will need...

Don’t worry if you don’t have your own clubs, you can always hire your own set on arrival or we can help arrange this before if you’d like. Of course, if you do have your own clubs you’re more than welcome to take them with you and if you’re heading overseas we can help arrange golf carriage for your flights. There is also the option of buggy hire if you’re not wanting to walk the entire course, so do chat to our team and we can help you out with this!

Understanding golf handicaps...

If you are brand new to golf your handicap will automatically be 52, if you are an existing member of a golf club then your handicap will be calculated based on your registered scores. The lower your handicap the higher your ability. Many of our golfing holidays require a handicap of 38 or below however there are still options for those that are new to the game and have higher handicaps. What to expect from the holiday...

As with all Solos holidays, your group will be hosted by one of our dedicated Solos Tour Leader’s who will also be a keen golfer. They will be responsible for organising who plays with who and will usually do so based on handicaps and ability, so you never have to worry about playing with people above or below your own level. We always ensure there are confirmed tee-times ahead of your arrival so you can don’t have to think about anything other than showing up! And, when you’re not on the fairways the hotels our team hand-pick will have a fantastic variety of other activities you can enjoy. Whether that be relaxing in a spa, grabbing a drink at the in-house bar or enjoying far-reaching views, you can make the most of your time away however you wish.
