Welcome to amazing Egypt! Upon arrival at Luxor International Airport, we’ll proceed through immigration, collect our luggage and transfer to our ship on the Nile.

Day Two: Luxor - Edfu

Day Two: Luxor - Edfu

We will begin our sightseeing of some of the amazing West Bank sites of Luxor, including the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut and Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon, we sail to Edfu via the Esna Lock.

Day Three: Edfu - Aswan

Day Three: Edfu - Aswan

This morning, we cruise along the Nile from Edfu to Kom Ombo. In the afternoon, we visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, uniquely dedicated to both the falcon god Horus and the crocodile god Sobek. After the visit, we continue sailing south toward Aswan.

This morning, we have free time to explore the city of Aswan or book one of our optional tours. In the afternoon, we sail on a felucca boat. Feluccas are simple, traditional Egyptian sailboats that have been sailing on the mighty Nile since ancient times.

Today, we visit the Temple of Isis (Philae) and enjoy the view of the High Dam in Aswan. In the afternoon, we sail back to Luxor via Edfu & the Esna Lock.

Today is at leisure as we sail back to Luxor.

We check-out after breakfast and begin an early visit to the East Bank of Luxor, including the wonderful Temple of Luxor with its giant columns, Avenue of Sphinxes and the enormous complex of Karnak, as seen in ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ amongst many other films. In the afternoon, we transfer to Luxor Airport for our afternoon flight to Cairo.

Day Nine: Cairo

Day Nine: Cairo

After an early breakfast, we set out to explore one of the world's most iconic archaeological sites—the Pyramids of Giza and the legendary Sphinx. Built more than 4,600 years ago during Egypt's Old Kingdom, the awe-inspiring pyramids were constructed as monumental royal tombs, designed to stand for eternity—and they have done just that. We also visit the enigmatic Great Sphinx, the world's largest monolithic statue. Carved from a single block of limestone, this mythical figure, with the body of a lion and the head of a human, has stood watch over the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile for millennia, remaining one of Egypt's most enduring and mysterious symbols. We return to our hotel with the rest of the day at leisure to relax or explore more of Cairo with optional trips offered locally.

After a leisurely breakfast, we check out of our hotel and conclude our Egyptian adventure with a visit to the magnificent Grand Egyptian Museum. Afterwards, we transfer to Cairo International Airport for our onward flight, taking with us unforgettable memories of Egypt's timeless wonders.

Day 1 - 7 | Jaz Helio-Corsini

All boats have 60 air-conditioned cabins on board. Sit back and relax as you enjoy the service and the views. Extensive facilities include a bar and lounge, restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, sun deck with swimming pool, gift shop and laundry service. There is limited-speed Wi-Fi on the ship (charges will apply for some services). Our outside cabins are located on the main deck and all feature private facilities with hairdryer, air-conditioning, satellite TV, mini bar (extra charges apply) and safe. Higher deck cabins are available at a supplement—please request at the time of booking.

Our hotel is located in the Giza area of Cairo, close to the pyramids. At the hotel you can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool, multiple on-site restaurants and entertainment venues. Wi-Fi is available (charges may apply). All rooms feature a private bathroom, comfortable furnishings, air conditioning, hairdryer, mini bar and a flat-screen TV.

Airport Transfers

Arrival and departure airport transfers are included for the majority of our trips, regardless of whether you book your own flights or our team books your flight. This specific trip includes a complimentary airport transfer option; our team will gladly assist you in securing your transfer. Important Information
A sightseeing programme is included in your touring package. Please bring with you wired earphones if available to use with Tour guide system provided when needed. As part of health & safety we do require all our guests to be able to manage the demands of the trip. This will often include early starts with long days travelling by foot and on and off minibuses/coaches. You also must be mindful that when visiting a country with different cuisine and culture, special dietary requests cannot always be made as readily available with great choice. Please see the day by day itinerary for details of the programme. The order of the itinerary and events may be subject to change.
Booking Information
It is important to consider whether this trip is suitable for your level of fitness, mobility, and any medical conditions. We are committed to making reasonable adjustments wherever possible. Transfer time
The transfer time for the main tour between Luxor Airport and the ship is approximately 20 minutes, depending on the traffic. The transfer time from Jaz Pyramids Resort to Cairo Airport is approximately 1 hour, depending on the traffic.
Gratuities
There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. To give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below. Your Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection at the beginning of your holiday to cover drivers, cruise crew, porters, and hotel staff of approximately £50.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. For your Egyptologist Guide a guidelines of £3 to £4 per day is suggested to give to him/her personally at the end of your tour. 
Dress code
The dress code is casual. Comfortable shoes for walking and sightseeing are recommended.

For optional excursions you can pay by CASH US dollars, Sterling, Euros or Egyptian pounds. We also advise you bring with you a good amount of cash Dollars/Sterling. Cash can be easily exchanged to Egyptian pounds in Egypt and you will have a better exchange Rate for foreign currencies. Please note:- Optional excursions are not guaranteed and are based on minimum numbers. The prices quoted are guideline only and may involve other non-Solos guests.

Egyptian Pound
 
Some shops accept credit cards or Sterling for larger purchases. There is a surcharge in most places for using a credit card of 3% to 5%, throughout Egypt. In the bazaars, and smaller shops, dollars or Egyptian pounds cash will only be taken. For ease we recommend that you pay by cash for any optional excursions. Credit cards are NOT accepted. US dollars, Sterling and Egyptian pounds can be used at the Duty Free shop. We also recommend you bring with you a good amount of cash Sterling as cash point machines are not easy to find especially during the Nile Cruise. Cash money can be easily exchanged to Egyptian pounds in Egypt and you get a better exchange for the sterling in Egypt. You can pay cash (any currency) or by card on board. We recommend that when travelling to Egypt you call your bank or credit card company to inform them of your trip so they do not block your cards.
Passports and visas
We recommend that you check passport and visa requirements for the country you are visiting at the State Department if you have a U.S. Passport. Most countries require that your passport have at least six months validity when traveling internationally, and many require that you have one to two blank visa pages for either an entry stamp or visa. As a general rule, please check that your passport has six months validity beyond your planned trip, and if not, please renew your passport with plenty of time to provide Solos with your updated passport information by the final payment due date
 
Visa on Arrival (recommended) 
You can get a visa on arrival by payment in Sterling, US Dollars or Euros; the visa fee is US$30 at approved bank kiosks within airport arrival halls, before reaching immigration counters. Visas granted on arrival are valid for a maximum of 30 days. There’s no need to buy a visa from an agent. In many cases agents will charge more than US$30 for a visa. If you’re harassed by an agent, report the incident to the tourist police in the airport terminal. 
 
You may also get a visa from an Egyptian Consulate outside of Egypt before you travel. British nationals travelling to Sharm el Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba and Taba resorts for up to 15 days receive a free entry permission stamp upon arrival. If you intend to travel out of these areas or stay longer than 15 days, you must get a visa. If you have travelled to one of the South Sinai Red Sea resorts, entered without a visa and your plans have changed, you can normally purchase a visa at Sharm el Sheikh Airport to allow you to travel elsewhere. 
 
Applications for visa extensions should be made at Egyptian Passport and Immigration Offices. You may have difficulties leaving Egypt with an out of date visa. You will not normally be allowed to leave without paying a fine if your visa is out of date by more than 14 days. For further information and enquiries, contact the Egyptian Consulate in London. Your specific passport and visa requirements, and other immigration requirements are your sole responsibility and you should confirm these with the relevant embassies and/or consulates of the countries in which you are planning to travel. 
 
Visa Online You can get a visa online at Visa2Egypt. Tourist visas granted using the e-visa system are valid for a maximum of 3 months.
