A superb base for our week of sociable Solos Winter golf. Overlooking the Três Irmãos beach, the Pestana Blue Alvor Beach All Inclusive Hotel is situated in the charming resort of Alvor, ideally located with easy access to the area's golf courses. A wonderful way to spend a week playing golf on the Algarve.

Silves Course
With spectacular mountain views from most holes, this picturesque and well-designed course certainly offers a rewarding challenge and a test for all levels of golfers. Concentration is the name of the game from the outset where a drive at the opening hole has to flirt with water hazards on both flanks.

Vale da Pinta Course
This fantastic parkland course designed by the highly respected American golf architect Ron Fream has 8 times consecutively hosted the European Seniors Tour Qualifying final. The Vale de Pinta golf is rightly respected not just for its playability and challenging layout but for outstanding levels of beauty and enjoyment which has earned its place as one of the best designed courses in the Algarve and Europe.

Gramacho Course
Our week includes a round at this fantastically designed championship golf course with its 18 holes and 27 greens, plus the numerous different tee points will enable players to enjoy the same course time and time again but always with slightly different challenges. Following the success of Vale da Pinta, Ron Fream teamed up with the former world No 1 Nick Price to create this unique course where they managed to incorporate the traditional landscape by utilizing the natural stone outcrops, historical dry stone walling and existing ancient trees with some artfully sculpted lakes and bunkers.

Golf Club Insurance
Clients will most probably find that their golf clubs are covered on their household insurance policy. Most policies cover a single item such as golf clubs for a period out of the country. However, clients should make very sure that they do have adequate cover for their equipment
Golf Cart,Trolley & Club Hire
Golf Cart, Trolley & Club Hire Pestana Golf Courses only hire buggies on a first come first served basis. It is not possible to pre-book buggies unless a doctor's certificate is presented.These must be requested and paid locally at the courses subject to availability.
Equipment rentals – prices are per unit per round and are subject to change without prior notice: Pestana courses: Golf Cart 55,00euros /Electric Trolley 30,00euros / Pull Trolley 10,00euros (these must be requested and paid locally at the courses and are subject to availability)

Handicap Index number is required at the time of booking Please advise our reservations team. Alternatively you can add this to the special requirements box on our booking page. If you have a certificate please ensure you take it with you on the trip, this enables the Tour Leader to assess everyone’s ability, so that rounds and competitions can be organised fairly. What to Wear
Golf Footwear
Golf shoes with soft spikes are required.
What to Wear
Golf attire during the day. We suggest smart casual for the evenings.
Carriage of Clubs
We advise you to use a light golf bag when packing your clubs. We suggest you wrap a towel round the neck of the clubs to protect them and stop them rattling around whilst in transit. It is also important to then place the bag and clubs in an outer carrying bag, which can be purchased from any good golf shop.
Passport & Visas
We recommend that you check passport and visa requirements for the country you are visiting at the State Department if you have a U.S. Passport. Most countries require that your passport have at least six months validity when traveling internationally, and many require that you have one to two blank visa pages for either an entry stamp or visa. As a general rule, please check that your passport has six months validity beyond your planned trip, and if not, please renew your passport with plenty of time to provide Solos with your updated passport information by the final payment due date.

We recommend that you check if vaccinations are required for your destination at the CDC’s recommendations for your visited destination(s). We also recommend you purchase travel protection. A travel protection plan can often assist with medical emergencies and reimburse costs that are covered by the plan. Please verify coverage details with Solos before you travel.
Gratuities
We suggest a Group Collection to cover transfer drivers, and hotel staff of €25.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % to add on.
