Tucked away between the beautiful borders of France and Spain, the picturesque principality of Andorra is an ideal choice for those new to skiing. Our specially designed Solos Ski Week offers a relaxed and supportive environment at a cosy mountain hotel located right at the base of the Vallnord – Pal Arinsal ski resort. With direct ski-in ski-out access and a comfortable 6-seat ski lift just steps from the hotel, everything you need for an easy and stress-free start is right at your fingertips. Whether you're trying skiing for the first time or getting back on the slopes after a break, this welcoming alpine escape promises gentle runs, great instruction, and plenty of encouragement – all set against a stunning mountain backdrop. This trip is perfect for beginner skiers looking to learn the basics and gain confidence on the slopes.

Our delightful modern hotel is situated in a privileged position at the foot of the ski resort offering an enviable ski in location in the resort of Arinsal. The hotel is a mere 50 metres away from the 6 seat ski lift which takes you up to the ski slopes of the ski resort of Vallnord - Pal Arinsal.

Facilities include

This comfortable hotel offers a bar, cosy lounge with fireplace, restaurant, free Wi-Fi, ski lockers and access to the Fitness and Relaxation area which includes exterior Austral bath, fitness area, individual Swedish sauna, wet sauna and massage room ( charges apply and reserve in advance while in resort).

Essential Information

Transfer Time
The transfer from Barcelona Airport to the hotel is approximately 3 hours, depending on weather and traffic.
Important Information
Tourist Tax - Payable Locally - €2.09 per night
 
A reasonable level of fitness is required and you must be fit and able to take part.
Dress Code
On a skiing holiday, dress is generally very informal, the emphasis being on comfort and warmth. We recommend that you pack a pair of skiing trousers and warm ski jacket or a waterproof shell and separate fleece lining or an all-in-one ski suit. Thermal or silk underwear is recommended. Cotton/cotton mix roll necks, T-shirts or sweat shirts; several thin layers are better than one thick layer. 
 
Ski socks, ski gloves or mitts and a hat or headband are suggested. Where temperatures are expected to be well below zero, take a face-mask or balaclava. Moon boots or waterproof walking shoes are a “must”. Suntan cream (high protective factor), lip salve, sunglasses and/or goggles are all very useful items to pack. Casual clothes are ideal for the evenings; it is unusual on skiing holidays to dress formally in the evenings.
Gratuities
We suggest a Group Collection to cover transfer drivers, and hotel staff of €35 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % to add on. If you choose to have ski lessons, you may also like to thank your ski instructor at the end of the week with a token of appreciation.
Passport & Visa Information
We recommend that you check passport and visa requirements for the country you are visiting at the State Department if you have a U.S. Passport. Most countries require that your passport have at least six months validity when traveling internationally, and many require that you have one to two blank visa pages for either an entry stamp or visa. As a general rule, please check that your passport has six months validity beyond your planned trip, and if not, please renew your passport with plenty of time to provide Solos with your updated passport information by the final payment due date.
Health Requirements
We recommend that you check if vaccinations are required for your destination at the CDC’s recommendations for your visited destination(s). We also recommend you purchase travel protection. A travel protection plan can often assist with medical emergencies and reimburse costs that are covered by the plan. Please verify coverage details with Solos before you travel.
