Essential Information

Optional Excursions
Full Day Tour  - Golubac - Prices from €166 per person

Travel along the scenic banks for the Danube to discover two of the most fascinating historical sites in Eastern Serbia. Our first stop is the impressive Golubac Fortress, a medieval stronghold dramatically positioned at the entrance of the Derdap Gorge. With its striking towers rising directly from the Danube, the fortress tells the story of centuries of battles between the Ottoman and Hungarian empires. The journey continues to Lepenski Vir, one of Europe's most important historic sites, dating back over 8,000 years. Here you will learn about on of the earliest known organized human settlements and see the unique trapezoidal houses and mysterious stone sculptures created by the ancient inhabitants of the Danube. We will make a stop at Kapetan Mišin breg, a traditional ethno complex overlooking the Danube, where you can enjoy a tasting of local wines, rakja, and regional specialities while taking in spectacular views of the Iron Gates.

Half Day Tour - Smederevo Wine Tasting - Prices from €151 per person

Enjoy a scenic drive from Belgrade to the family-owned Jeremic Winery, located in the picturesque wine region near Smederevo. During the visit, you will learn about local wine production, the history of Serbian winemaking, and the unique grape varieties grown in the area. The experience includes a guided tasting of several carefully selected wines paired with local specialties. Relax in the peaceful vineyard surroundings before returning to Belgrade.

Transfer Time
The transfer time from Belgrade International Airport to the Mark Hotel Belgrade is approximately 25 minutes depending on traffic.
Passport & Visa Information

We recommend that you check passport and visa requirements for the country you are visiting at the State Department if you have a U.S. Passport. Most countries require that your passport have at least six months validity when traveling internationally, and many require that you have one to two blank visa pages for either an entry stamp or visa. As a general rule, please check that your passport has six months validity beyond your planned trip, and if not, please renew your passport with plenty of time to provide Solos with your updated passport information by the final payment due date.

Health Requirements

We recommend that you check if vaccinations are required for your destination at the CDC’s recommendations for your visited destination(s). We also recommend you purchase travel protection. A travel protection plan can often assist with medical emergencies and reimburse costs that are covered by the plan. Please verify coverage details with Solos before you travel.

Currency
The currency in Serbia is the Serbian Dinar (RSD)

If you are unable to obtain Serbian Dinar prior to departure, you can exchange USD,GBP & EUR in banks and at licensed exchange bureaus (Menjacnica) which offer better rates than at airports or hotels.

ATM's are also widely available and it is recommended to carry a mix of cash and card.
Gratuities
There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. In order to give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below. Your Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection to cover drivers, porters and hotel staff of RSD2730.00.

Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate add on.
Important Information
Please note, this itinerary involves a reasonable amount of walking, some of which will be on uneven ground. Therefore a good level of fitness and mobility is required for this trip. Please ensure you have read the itinerary details fully for information of what the trip entails.
Flights
Whether you'd like us to arrange your flights or prefer to book your own, we're here to make the process easy. Our team can secure flights from the location that suits you best, or provide all the arrival and departure details you'll need if booking independently.

Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance before any trip — it safeguards you against unexpected issues like illness, cancellations, or lost luggage. It also protects your health and travel investment, giving you peace of mind to fully enjoy your journey. Click here. to learn more.
WhatsApp Group

Shortly before your holiday, you will be invited to join an optional WhatsApp group to connect with your fellow travellers and your Tour Leader.

Essential Details
