Feel the power of a vintage steam train as it chugs through emerald forests toward the Brocken summit before descending into the "beer capital" of Bamberg to taste their world-famous, smoke-infused "liquid bread." From going four stories subterranean into Nuremberg’s secret medieval beer labyrinths to enjoying a VIP masterclass at the record-breaking Maisel’s Beer Experience in Bayreuth, every day is a deep dive into the art of the perfect pour. Between pints, you’ll master the craft of mustard-making, feast on sizzling Nuremberg bratwurst, and wander through storybook timber-framed towns, all while sharing every "Prost!" with a spirited group of fellow solo travelers who are just as thirsty for adventure as you are.

Day One: Arrive in Berlin & transfer to Wernigerode

Day Three: Quedlinburg & mustard-making class
After breakfast, we head to the charming town of Quedlinburg, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its medieval architecture, cobblestone streets, and fascinating history. Following lunch with a local beer, we take part in a hands-on mustard-making class, creating our own unique blends — a deliciously personal touch to our culinary journey.

Day Four: The spirits of the monastery in Wöltingerode
After breakfast, we head to Wöltingerode and a tour the the Monastery where this convent adventure trail takes you through the old distillery, the cloister, Sister Regula's room, the old residential wing of the nuns and the courtyard with the inscriptions.
After the tour, you will be invited to taste their distillery specialties in the manor house or kiln and have some free time before returning to Wernigerode Castle where you wlil be guided through the castle with its centuries-old history around the country and it's people, immersing yourself in the liveing culture of the German high nobility in the second half of the 19th Century.

Day Five: Visit to the Beer Capital- Bamberg
Today, our journey continues to Bamberg, widely regarded as the “capital of beer” in Germany. After a scenic coach transfer from Wernigerode — around 4 to 5 hours with breaks along the way — we arrive in this UNESCO-listed city. In the afternoon, we embark on a guided tour titled “Leidenschaft für Gerstensaft” , offering a historical beer tour of the city, guided tour of the Schlenkerla brewery and Zwickel beer tasting.

Day Six: Deep dive into Nuremberg
After breakfast, we begin the day with a guided tour of the Fels Labyrinth, venturing into Nuremberg’s unique network of caves and tunnels. As we navigate this subterranean maze, we uncover its fascinating role in the city’s history through captivating stories and legends. Lunch follows at Bratwurst Röslein, the world’s largest bratwurst restaurant, where we sample Nuremberg’s signature dish — small, flavorful sausages served with sauerkraut and mustard.
In the afternoon, we set off on a two-hour guided sightseeing tour, exploring Nuremberg’s iconic landmarks, including the imposing Nuremberg Castle and the historic Old Town, while learning about the city’s medieval legacy and modern-day cultural significance.

Day Seven: The art of the brew in Bayreuth
Today is all about immersing ourselves in the vibrant culture of Bayreuth, a city celebrated for its rich musical heritage — and, of course, its beer. We begin with a guided tour of Maisel’s Bier-Erlebniswelt, an engaging beer museum offering an in-depth look at the history of brewing, with a special focus on the Maisel family legacy. We explore interactive exhibits, discover the brewing process, and sample a selection of their finest beers. After the tour, we have free time for lunch (at own cost). We recommend Liebesbier, a cosy brewery restaurant serving local specialities, or you may choose to wander into Bayreuth’s city centre to discover more of its sights and flavours.
In the afternoon, we enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Bayreuth, delving into the city’s rich history — including its connection to composer Richard Wagner.. We also take time to explore the charming streets and landmarks of this cultural gem at a relaxed pace.
This evening, we come together for a farewell dinner to share memories of our special journey through Germany.

Day 8: Transfer and depart Frankfurt
After breakfast, we have free time to relax or explore Bamberg until we transfer to Frankfurt Airport for our onward flight.
