When you're not playing tennis, take full advantage of the hotel's many amenities, including swimming pools and a spa and massage leisure center. You can also take a short walk to the beach or use the shuttle buses to explore the resort centers of Albufeira and Vilamoura.

Fantastic tennis holiday

Another fantastic tennis holiday - how can it be otherwise with Mark Atherton organising us! How he manages to adapt as seamlessly as he does to varying weather conditions, differing personal requests, etc is pure magic. A lovely hotel with rooms in small blocks spread over a vast area. ‘Easy’ access to the beach if you don’t mind steps - about 100 of them.

First toe dip in a Solos holiday. The tennis, The Tour Leader, Mark and a very friendly group made for a great experience. The holiday complex is large but catered for "Solos" with our own tables, so we didn't have to queue at mealtimes as they got busy. Will definitely be booking again.

2nd Solos holiday

My 2nd Solos holiday. Tennis last September in Corfu was so brilliant that I chose to book again, but in the Algarve this time. Common denominator was tour leader and tennis enthusiast Mark Atherton. Mark gets the balance just right. Brings a group of strangers together whilst respecting individual needs for space or reassurance, and makes sure we all have fun! And we did - of course.

AP Adriana Beach Resort 4*

Situated in Olhos de Água, in the municipality of Albufeira, in the Algarve, this hotel is perfectly located a short walk from the beach and houses many facilities to make it a perfect base for our tennis holiday.
Facilities include
The hotel is all inclusive and has three spacious restaurants that offer a range of international and Portuguese cuisine. The two open-air bars have table and chairs on the sun terrace overlooking the pool. Restaurants and bars are open depending on the season. Other facilities include outdoor pool, minigolf, football and beach volleyball courts. A sauna, hot tub and gym are available and bicycles are available to rent.

Our rooms all come equipped with flat screen tv, en-suite bathroom, Wi-Fi, hairdryer and telephone.

Essential Information

Tennis program
We include a 5-day program of organized tennis, with our Solo’s Tour Leader organizing the friendly competitions. Don’t forget to pack your tennis racquet!
Dress code
Either tennis or casual attire during the day. Proper tennis footwear is of course required when on court. Smart casual clothes will be ideal for the evening. Please note that shorts should not be worn for evening meals. Appropriate comfortable shoes are a must for sightseeing.

Gratuities
We suggest a Group Collection to cover transfer drivers, and hotel staff of €15.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % add on.

Permissions

WhatsApp Group: Shortly before your holiday, you will be invited to join an optional WhatsApp group to connect with your fellow travellers and your Tour Leader. If you choose to join the WhatsApp group, you’re consenting to your phone number being visible to other travellers. Photos or messages may be shared within the group. Solos may use group content for marketing purposes. You can opt out at any time by emailing: [email protected]. 

If you would prefer not to join the WhatsApp group, you can simply meet the group on your first day instead. Please note, if you have not received an email within 24 hours of departure, we recommend you check your email junk folder. Upon the conclusion of your holiday, please be informed that we will close your specific holiday WhatsApp group. Therefore, we recommend making personal arrangements with those you wish to stay in touch with before the holiday concludes. 

Photo Permissions: At the beginning of your trip, your Tour Leader will ask if you would be happy to sign a photo permission form. This means that any photographs taken during your holiday can be used by Solos to share what the Solos experience is all about. It also means you have lots of memories to go home with! Details will be given at your welcome meeting

Transfer times
From Faro Airport to AP Adriana Beach Resort, its around 45minutes.
Passports & Visas
We recommend that you check passport and visa requirements for the country you are visiting at the State Department if you have a U.S. Passport. Most countries require that your passport have at least six months validity when traveling internationally, and many require that you have one to two blank visa pages for either an entry stamp or visa. As a general rule, please check that your passport has six months validity beyond your planned trip, and if not, please renew your passport with plenty of time to provide Solos with your updated passport information by the final payment due date.
