Surrounded by endless vineyards and olive groves, Alykanas offers a peaceful beachfront setting, perfect for enjoying a refreshing Greek cocktail at sunset. The small harbor is a charming departure point for boat trips to the world-famous Smugglers Cove and the Blue Caves. For those looking for more variety, the neighboring resort of Alykes is just 0.6 miles away, while the island's capital, Zante Town—once known as the "Venice of the South"—is just a 25-minute drive away, offering historic churches, museums, and cobblestone streets to explore.

On a Solos Exclusive vacation, your time is entirely your own. While the golden sandy beaches are perfect for relaxing, you'll have complete flexibility to explore the island's stunning natural beauty:
- Coastline Cruise: Set sail along Zakynthos' breathtaking coastline to admire the iconic Navagio (Shipwreck) Beach and explore secluded sea caves.
- Island Tour by Bus: Spend a day discovering the beautiful island of Zakynthos, taking in its charming villages, scenic landscapes, and stunning coastal views.
- Turtle Spotting by Boat: Enjoy a boat trip with the chance to spot the island's famous loggerhead sea turtles in their natural habitat.
There are also two exclusive excursions available for Solos guests only:
- Premium Shipwreck and Blue Caves Tour (7 hours): Discover the island's spectacular coastline, including the famous Shipwreck Beach and beautiful Blue Caves.

Essential Information
You may wish to take an optional excursion during the course of your stay. Full details will be given at the Information Meeting. All tours should be paid for in Euros. Credit cards are not accepted. The exact amount will be given at your Information Meeting. Your Tour Leader will help arrange these for you but may not necessarily accompany you.
- Island tour by bus. From €49
- Turtle tour by boat. From €40 plus cost of bus to Laganas to pick up the boat
- Boat trip to Navagio Beach (Shipwreck Beach). From €49
Please note:- Optional excursions are not guaranteed and are based on minimum numbers. The prices quoted are guideline only and may involve other non-Solos holidaymakers. If you wish to hire sunbeds and umbrellas down at the local beach the current cost is €10 per day for 2 beds plus a parasol.
There is also the option for two exclusive excursions for Solos guests only, exact prices will be given during your welcome meeting as dependent on participant numbers.

There are no nonstop flights from the United States to Zakynthos, but the island is easy to reach with convenient connections through major European hubs. The fastest and most affordable itineraries usually connect through Athens or London, where frequent onward flights make layovers short—often just a couple of hours.
For East Coast travelers, total journey times average 12.5–15 hours. Multiple daily nonstop flights operate from New York (JFK and Newark) to Athens, served by airlines such as United, Emirates, Aegean, and Norse. With several carriers to choose from, it’s often possible to use frequent flyer miles and start your trip in comfort.
From the West Coast, you’ll find good options as well. Los Angeles (LAX) offers around nine direct flights per week to Athens, with flight times of just under 13 hours. With regular connections from Athens to Zakynthos, the total travel time typically falls between 15–17 hours.
When planning your trip, keep in mind that Zakynthos International Airport may also be listed as Zante Airport (ZTH).
With your trip, your airport transfer is included, so your arrival in Zakynthos is completely stress-free. After landing, you’ll be greeted at the airport and taken straight to your hotel in about 30 minutes. No navigating buses or negotiating with taxis—just a smooth ride that gets you checked in and ready to enjoy a refreshing swim or a relaxing drink by the pool in no time.

If you are taking part in an excursion which includes 4 x 4 off road drives, quad biking, motorcycling or snowmobiling you need to check your travel insurer will offer you adequate cover. You will also need to sign a waiver form.
Shortly before your holiday, you will be invited to join an optional WhatsApp group to connect with your fellow travellers and your Tour Leader.
We recommend that you check passport and visa requirements for the country you are visiting at the State Department if you have a U.S. Passport. Most countries require that your passport have at least six months validity when traveling internationally, and many require that you have one to two blank visa pages for either an entry stamp or visa. As a general rule, please check that your passport has six months validity beyond your planned trip, and if not, please renew your passport with plenty of time to provide Solos with your updated passport information by the final payment due date.
